The Study for Emergency Box on Automobile in Korea



Abstract
During recent years, attempts have been made in various countries to extend intensive care to patients with acute life-threatening conditions in various situations outside hospitals.
The object of such schemes is to promptly apply life-saving measures to the patient and to make him fit for transfer to hospital for definitive therapy. The solutions chosen to attain this object have to some extent depended on the medical specialties which have taken the initiate and on other local conditions such as the emergency drugs and equipment¡¯s on emergency boxes in automobiles.
We visited the each bus terminals in Seoul and investigated the number of buses, existence or nonexistence, the percentage of establishment and the contents of emergency boxes.
The results were as follows:
1) The bus companies had emergency boxes on each buses.
2) The percentage of establishment of an emergency boxes on every buses was 100%.
3) The size of an emergency boxes variants from 50, 40, 30 cm (width, length, depth) to 30, 20, 20 cm (width, length, depth).
4) The emergency boxes were contained gauze bandages, absorbent cottons, disinfectants, plasters, analgesics, digestants, medications for motion sickness, etc. in most cases.
